Spicy Crispy Chilli Chicken

Ingredients:

500g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 egg, beaten

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup flour

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp oil for frying

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp ketchup

1 tsp chilli paste (adjust to taste)

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 small onion, sliced

1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Chopped green onions for garnish

Directions:

In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Coat the chicken pieces with the beaten egg, then toss them in the dry mixture until evenly coated.

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

In another pan, heat a tablespoon of oil and sauté the onions, red and green bell peppers for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ketchup, and chilli paste to make the sauce.

Add the crispy chicken pieces to the pan with the sautéed vegetables. Pour the sauce over and toss everything together until evenly coated.

Cook for another 2-3 minutes to combine the flavors. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
